I got an email from a friend yesterday, the subject was “Sisters”. Here is the content:
[color=Teal]A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter
Don't forget your Sisters,' she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. 'They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them.'
Some weekends we can just stay home and relax, well, this wasn't one of those.
Friday night I had dinner with some friends at Kitchen 88 ( 厨房88 ) on Da Gu Road. I hear it is partly owned by HK celebrity Tony Leung and Carina Lau. It's hard to categorize this restaurant since the menu has Shanghainese, Sichuanese, Taiwanese...Some dishes were pretty good, I just don't remember what they were. I especially like the dessert, Red Bean Ice is not on the menu, but you can order it. We ordered the large size, 8 of us couldn’t finish.
Saturday afternoon was my usual work out with my trainer at the gym. Somehow this time it felt so easy, a breeze. Guess I'm making progress?
