A few days ago the shooting at Virginia Tech shocked the world. On the first day the news broke, I read online that the shooter might be a student from China, and I started to worry. That night I had a dream I was back in the states and hanging out with some friends, then I got stopped by a cop for jaywalking, I could've sworn I didn't see any traffic lights at the corner. Anyways, there was this Chinese couple who were visiting the states for the first time, and they were afraid the cop would give them a hard time because of the shooting, so they kept saying in Chinese "Harmonious society, harmonious society, that's the slogan of our country. " And they made me translate, it was funny. 

The next day news confirmed it as a Korean student, and every Chinese person let out a sigh of relief. But really, to a foreigner, who can tell a Chinese from Korean from Japanese? Just like to us Chinese, all Caucasians look the same. I remember the time when the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia was bombed, the foreigners in China had to yell out "I'm not American" to avoid being beaten up. And after 911, after the US invaded Iraq, anger towards the American government was also passed on to the American people, and when traveling abroad, I found people who were very eager to tell others they are not Americans.

When I woke up this morning I could still remember pieces of my dream from last night. Maybe because I just watched that 3 hour miniseries "Human Trafficking" before going to bed, so in my dream I became a federal agent, and eventually caught and killed some Russian mafia head. The most memorable part was when I was saying goodbye to my partner, who turned out to be the former captain of my Shanghai hockey team, Andrea. We were hugging and crying, it was very emotional, like some movie scene. And after I sent her on her way, I was walking on the street alone, and was invited by the Mafia family over for dinner. They were very nice to me, how weird!

I must've woken up in the middle, then I had another dream. This time I had rats all over my house, first they were very small ones and I didn't mind too much, but then they got bigger and bigger. I started to find these giant dead mice on the floor, and when I tried to pick them up with my hands,  my hands started to erode, very gross!

I gotta stop watching these heavy movies at night just before going to bed. Tonight we better watch a comedy instead.

Lately haven't had a dream that I can remember too clearly, but this morning when I woke up, I could still recall some of the details of my dream. I was taking a train somewhere, I barely caught it, and it was one of the most disgusting trains I've ever been on. There were no seats, people just stood around with trash everywhere, then we all looked out of the window to see some famous tourist spot, which had a number of huge stone turtles. After the next stop, I got off that part of the train in search of my assigned seats, somehow I couldn't find the number of the train on my ticket, that's when I realized I was on the wrong train going the wrong direction, I should've been on the other train. 

I found an opportunity to jump off the train, and then managed to catch the right one. This train was much nicer, and they had lots of foreigners on the train, I even helped them translate. Somehow on this train ZZ was sitting next to me, like he's always been there, and I wasn't surprised at all. Haiyin was sitting behind us, how weird. And it wasn't really a train, more like a bus. We went through these beautiful scenic areas, great urban architecture and beautiful natural scenery, which of course, I was unable to capture with my camera again. It always happens like that. No matter how hard I try I can't take those pictures. ZZ says that's because those are places I went to in my previous life, and I was an angel from heaven. Isn't he sweet? And I have no problems with that explanation. 

Anyways, when I try to analyze my dream it really does have some obvious symbolism and resemblance to real life. Maybe my life is finally going the right direction.

我满脑子都是故事，最合适我的职业应该是作家或者编剧。我老公也同意，我的聪明才智到现在为止还没有完全发挥出来。我的灵感大部分都在夜深人静的时候降临，所以我总是不愿意睡觉。睡觉前脑子里总是充满了很多乱七八糟的想法，所以就会不停的做梦。

喜欢睡懒觉的人是不是都爱做梦？我总是睡不醒因为我的梦没完没了，像个长篇电视连续剧。如果没有人叫我，我可以一直梦下去。我的梦里面什么人都有，从陌生人、同事、朋友、到家人，谁也不会拉下。有的时候很多人在一起，可是可能很快就变成一个人。可以从很热闹突然变成很冷清，很惊险，然后突然又会化险为夷。我其实有时候赖床是因为我醒了以后还要花点时间把我刚刚做完的梦给记下来。

喜欢做梦的人都是理想主义者，理想主义者都是乐观向上的人，乐观向上的人都是好人。所以喜欢睡懒觉的人都是好人。哈哈。这就是逻辑学。

星期六早上11点约了大学同学吃中饭，也许是昨晚喝多了，也许是睡的太晚了，也许是我的梦太有意思了，反正我一睁开眼睛已经是11:37了。结果我那个永远迟到的大学同学今天第一次早到，而我这个从来不会迟到的人却晚了一个多小时。

说到那个害得我迟到的梦，可能是因为前天晚上看的那部印度电影里有一个爆炸的场面，所以我梦里也出现了爆炸。我梦到我跟婷婷到一个地方去玩儿，好像在国外，我们去参观一个Monet的画廊，然后有人跟我说Monet今天会死，而且他当时就在那个画廊里，别问我为什么会有这种奇怪的梦，对我来说，这都是很正常的。当我们正在画廊里寻找Monet的时候，突然画廊旁边的那个酒店爆炸了，然后对面的那个建筑物也发生了爆炸，当时我就想，我们这里一定是下一个目标，果然马上听到一声巨响，然后我们都感觉到剧烈的震动，房子像要塌了。我和婷婷逃了出来，没有受任何伤。我们看到周围都是废墟。我找到一个电话亭，想打电话给老公报平安。这时我开始有些想醒过来的感觉，但是我很刻意的想把自己的梦记下来，所以又花了点时间回顾整个梦，然后我睁开眼睛，拿起枕头旁边的闹钟看了一眼，11:37分。我跟老公说“你的闹钟坏了吗?” 然后我又看了看我旁边的另一个钟，这时我完全醒了。

等我们赶到Element Fresh的时候已经是12:15分。除了坦白从宽，认真检讨，乖乖买单，我们没有其他选择。点菜的时候，菜单上那么多选择，我和老公不约而同的点了同一个三明治，又被朋友们骂我们太恶心了。

终于又回到上海了。每次离开上海一段时间以后再回来，我会更爱这个城市。不知道睡了多长时间，我终于醒了。在孟买的十天，就像一场梦，或者是通过时光隧道回到了过去。在半梦半醒之间，我悟到了一些东西，但可能还没有完全整理清楚。我不知道我是否想一直梦下去，还是快点醒过来。孟买的每一个角落，每一条街，她的那些古老的建筑都提醒着我们她旧日的辉煌， 和今日的破落。一百年以前的孟买和上海可能相差不大，今日的这两座城市可是有了天壤之别。

太长的假期不一定好，让我们有了太多的时间思考。但也给了我时间记录我的思想。我喜欢写旅游日记，这样有一天我老了的时候还可以慢慢回忆。我还需要一些时间整理游记。大家还需要耐心等待。

After nearly 36 hours since we left our hotel in Mumbai, we arrived home. I have never been more happy to see my bed. After another 7 hours, I finally woke up. Mumbai, it was all just like a dream that lasted 10 days. A part of me struggled to wake up and get back to my daily routine, and the other half almost never want to wake up from my dream. It was like a trip to the past through the time machine, and now we are once again back to the future. That's what going to Mumbai felt like. Every corner we turned, the ancient architecture that remained reminded us of its once glorious past and its modern day struggle. 100 years ago Shanghai and Mumbai may look very similar, but today, they are worlds apart.

I am really a dreamer. I dream almost every night. And my dreams range from meetings with world leaders, to dating famous celebrities, to experiencing natural disasters the scale of “Day after Tomorrow”. Last night, I had another unbelievable dream that I can't seem to get out of my head even hours after I woke up. 

First I saw amazing clouds rolling by, all different colors, beauty that I have never seen in my life. I quickly captured all that with my camera, and produced incredible pictures! Then before you know it, the clouds started coming closer, bringing huge waves that are the height of 20 floors, and huge ships the size of the Titanic started coming to shore and they seem unstoppable. All of a sudden, all the people started running for their lives, and it feels like I'm in the middle of the movie “Day after Tomorrow”. We managed to run to our office located on the 23th floor of a building. We met up with our other coworkers there, and were planning to upload the pictures to the internet. Suddenly water filled the city,and the water level started to rise quickly. Before you know it, the water level reached nearly 20 floors, the entire city will soon be buried under water. We all just sat in our office, waiting for unavoidable certain death. The windows and doors were all shaking and the water can come through at any moment. That feeling of desperation is something I have never felt before, and even though it was in my dream, it felt so real. I could only think about how fast it will take for me to suffocate and die in the water. Then miraculously, the water subsided. In just a few minutes, all the water had gone, and I could see the street from our window. There were lots of people being drowned, empty cars, and dead bodies. Then we realized it was not a natural disaster but an Alien Invasion. We had to find the one person who could come up with the plan to fight them. Just as we had finished discussing our plan, we were all captured…

As soon as I woke up I told ZZ about my dream. And he said “Man, every night you are directing your own movies in your dreams. Where did you come from? Are you from this planet?”
